Family Law Paralegal
Hanson Baker, a respected and long-standing law firm in Bellevue, is seeking an experienced Family Law Paralegal to join our team. This is a full-time, hybrid position. We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented individual with good organizational and communication skills. Candidate must have strong ethics and integrity. This position supports one attorney, and the ideal candidate would preferably have extensive experience in all aspects of family law, including high net-worth individuals, and experience with trial.
Responsibilities may include:
- Creating, maintaining, and updating databases with relevant discovery and case information;
- Assisting attorneys in drafting correspondence, pleadings, discovery requests and answers, and declarations; property settlement agreements/separation contracts, final orders, qualified domestic relations orders, and all other motions and pleadings;
- Factual and legal research;
- Working with clients to draft pleadings and other documents;
- Reviewing, organizing, and indexing documents produced, maintaining privilege logs;
- Reviewing and assembling documents to be used at depositions, mediations, arbitrations and trial;
- Preparing witness and expert witness lists;
- Reviewing pleadings and organizing appropriate exhibits;
- Preparing for and assisting with hearing, mediations, arbitrations and trials;
- Filing in Superior Courts of Washington;
- Run child support calculations;
- Act as a liaison for fact and expert witnesses; and
- Reasonable billing requirement; and

Qualifications
- Paralegal certificate or equivalent work experience;
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a family law paralegal in WA state; King County specific is a plus;
- Solid understanding of family law litigation (state and federal deadlines and rules);
- Proficiency in legal drafting and writing;
- Attention to detail and accuracy in all work performed;
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines;
- High proficiency in MS Suite, specifically Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat;
- Ability to think and act independently and with minimal supervision;
- Experience with NetDocs and TABS3 or Clio a plus; and
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
