Born and raised in Malmö, Sweden, Magnus arrived in the United States at age 19 with the goal of becoming an American attorney. After serving as an editor of the Gonzaga Law Review and graduating  summa cum laude from Gonzaga University School of Law in 2001, he went on to clerk for the Washington Supreme Court from 2001 to 2002. At the conclusion of his clerkship, Magnus joined Hanson Baker as an associate attorney, proud to join one of Washington’s premier real estate law firms. He quickly rose through the ranks, becoming a Shareholder in 2008 and has been President since 2023.

Magnus’ practice covers both litigation and transaction work related to a broad range of real estate, construction, and creditors’ rights matters. He regularly represents buyers, sellers, property owners, landlords, construction companies, developers, and lenders in acquisitions, sales, financing, leasing, and construction matters. In addition to this transactional work, Magnus maintains a strong litigation practice in real estate, title insurance, and construction. It is through his representation of clients in all phases of litigation in courts across Washington State, including trials, appeals, mediations, and arbitrations, that he has gained a superior level of experience and knowledge in his chosen area of law.
