I help businesses resolve disputes in an efficient, cost-effective manner, so that they can focus on their business operations instead of litigation.

For more than 20 years I have enjoyed bringing creativity, energy, hustle, and enthusiasm to helping business entities and individual clients successfully resolve commercial and real estate disputes efficiently and cost-effectively.

I routinely represent commercial entities and their owners in a wide array of business disputes, including those involving contracts, shareholder, partnership and limited liability member agreements, commercial loan agreements, real property agreements, receiverships, easements, adverse possession, boundary disputes, commercial leases, partition actions, title and title insurance, mechanics’ liens, lender liability, wrongful foreclosure, mortgage fraud, professional liability, insurance coverage, bad faith, and fraud. I have significant trial and arbitration experience, and have mediated hundreds of disputes to a successful conclusion for clients.

How I serve clients

When disputes arise, I help clients determine their objectives and desired outcomes, and then I work creatively to see if solutions can be developed that will be acceptable to all sides with the goal of resolving disputes quickly, whenever possible.

Frequently, disputes will implicate insurance coverage and Consumer Protection Act issues. With a strong insurance background, I review policies and advise clients as to whether insurance coverage exists, with an eye toward the availability of insurance which can be the missing piece for dispute resolution, and may save a client considerable money and protect valuable assets.  Similarly, potential application of consumer protection laws to a dispute may be the impetus to settle.  My background in consumer protection matters is often a helpful component to my litigation strategy.

In some instances, settlement objectives need to be advanced over time through meticulous case development. As litigation efforts proceed, there may be opportunities to settle disputes through direct negotiation, mediation, and motion practice particularly as the legal and factual issues are narrowed by investigation and discovery. If a trial is necessary, I work tirelessly toward securing a favorable verdict for our clients.
